Well, to be diagnosed. And then fixed. I am praying it is just a simple seal and/or gasket. I keep reading about where a seal can go and leak oil into the transfer case. Sounds like a rip roaring good time. Not sure if that necessitates transfer case replacement. Hopefully not. I don’t want to dump a lot of money into this thing.

For those of you that might have missed my first post: my S10 started leaking oil, and it’s never leaked fluids before (crazy, I know). I crawled under to take a look since all the oil was coming from under the cab rather than under the engine. This is what I found:

It will be a few days before my friend has a chance to look at it but he did an engine swap and rebuilt his S10 pretty much from the ground up so at least he knows them well.

Poor Rizzo the truck. :-( It’s been sitting for almost three weeks since I’ve been afraid to drive it after discovering the leak (was sitting for like a week before I discovered the stain in the street).

Did you try reminding your S10 that it is in-fact not a Jeep product? Maybe that would fix the oil leaks.

My Sonoma’s front diff has a leak that looks like this.

Mechanic told me to just refill it every 6 months since they will always leak apparently.

Doesn’t look like a rear main seal leak to me...
